Seymour Everett Presents Civics and History Lesson Focused on the Mendez v. Westminster at the Mendez Tribute and Monument Park

Everett Dorey's Founding Partner, Seymour Everett, joined forces with attorney Jim Shott from James T. Shott & Associates to educate over 60 fourth graders from the Anaheim Elementary School District at the Mendez Tribute and Monument Park in Westminster, California.

Coordinated by ABOTA - Orange County, this civics and history lesson focused on the Mendez v. Westminster School District desegregation case, a pivotal moment in California's history. Sy and Jim engaged the students in a discussion about segregation and discrimination in Orange County during the 1940s, highlighting the significance of the Mendez case in desegregating schools. Each student received pocket Constitutions and OC ABOTA pencils. This annual event has successfully educated over 1,250 students and about 50 teachers to date.
